1) Project Overview

SpendWise India is a mobile-first personal finance app that helps young professionals understand their spending, manage budgets, track subscriptions, and make smarter money decisions. The product focuses on clarity over complexity — translating raw transactions into simple, actionable insights.

I led the end-to-end product development: problem framing, user flows, feature definition, data modeling, and UX execution.

2) Problem & Context

For most users, money doesn’t disappear because of a single big purchase — it leaks through frequent UPI payments, food delivery, subscriptions, and unplanned expenses. Existing finance tools either overwhelm with dashboards or oversimplify with basic transaction lists.

Users need a simple, reliable view of where their money goes, backed by clear insights and actionable recommendations, without the friction of spreadsheets or jargon-heavy financial apps.

3) Goals & Success Metrics

North Star Goal:

Give users an immediate, intuitive understanding of their monthly spending patterns and where they can improve.

Success Criteria:

• Users should be able to answer “Where did my money go this month?” in under 30 seconds.
• Users should identify at least one actionable insight every month, such as overspend, subscription, or category spike.
• Users should use at least two core flows regularly: Transactions, Plans (Budgets/Goals), or Trends.

PM guardrails:

• Keep the interface lightweight — no more than four primary tabs.
• Prioritize clarity and guidance over data density.
